Natural Cosmetics With Sun Filter
The summer is coming, and the question with him is how we best protect ourselves and our loved ones from the sun. It is now the subject of sun protection that is a real challenge to natural cosmetics. Undeniably, sun protection is necessary when it comes to the sun. Without such protection, almost a large proportion of the inhabitants of North Europe can enjoy the sun for only a few minutes, then the skin is painfully painted. Thanks to the sunset factor (Sun Protection factor = SPF), 20, the duration of stay in the sun can be increased twenty times.
The authoritative German sectoral journal ECO-TEST, for example, has long recommended the use of sun-protected lotions or creams based on purely mineral protection against ultraviolet beams. Such products are offered mainly by bioprospectors, which, when produced, make a protection-protected combination of two components. These components are Titan dioxide, which is particularly effective against ultraviolet beams of type B, and zinc oxide, which has wide protective functions for ultraviolet beams of type A. These substances are physical: they protect against the sun by reflecting ultraviolet rays from skin surfaces.
However, there is a new EU recommendation that the UFA-protection of creams and lotions should be at least one third of the UFB-Protection, i.e. the presumptive sunset factor (SPF). With very high sun-protection factors, it is difficult to guarantee appropriate FFA-protection by only mineral filters. Weleda and Wala (Dr. Hauschka) therefore no longer produce sun protection. Lavera and some other manufacturers continue to offer sun protection. However, their sunset does not exceed 20 on average.
Concerned consumers also ask well-founded questions about nano-particles which, in the form of mineral UV filters, may also be present in the sun-protected lotions. Isn't that dangerous for the consumer? It is known that the nano-particles of sunscreen do not cause problems with healthy skin, as they do not enter the body through the skin. In any case, the subject continues to be anxious and it is therefore recommended that new scientific developments be monitored. However, Titan dioxide is actively used not only by biological cosmetics firms.
